Kalamon is the original name for the Kalamata olive, which is regarded as the king of Greek table olives. They have a deep purple colour, tight and shiny skin, a distinctive almond shape, and a meaty texture. Kalamon olives are traditionally preserved in red wine vinegar to give a rich, fruity flavour. Sunita jumbo Kalamon olives are hand harvested to avoid damage to their delicate skins.
